| I downloaded a mod that places safe storage containers in each guild
hall. That's probably the easiest option and worked best for me from a
RP standpoint.

I just leave piles of stuff in places I can get to easy. I've never had any items
disappear while I was gone. Just throw it in a corner somewhere and return for it
when needed.

nope, you can get backpacks and saddlebag mods, but anywhere else you leave
stuff outside of your own "deed" house will be lost/reset

I don't know about stuff lying outside, but containers reset only after
72 in-game hours of continuous non-use. So a cell you go to quite often
may not reset even if the containers aren't "safe".

I find that doing a spot of Alchemy to bring down my encumbrance level (and
if possible a feather spell) means that I rarely have to drop anything but
level up with Alchemy and whatever it is that covers the feather spell.
After you've made a load of useless potions sell them in the shops to get
money for buying houses, thus increasing your mercantile and personality.

I've noticed some NPCs do pick some things up off the ground, but it
seems to vary a lot (and I've never seen them pick up anything
valuable). I generally find leaving stuff lying on the ground in the
open is pretty safe. >> Stay informed about: Storing stuff |
