I know this was started in a different thread, but it see it is a
sequel to S.t.a.l.k.e.r. My computer was barely able to play. I have a
used "gaming" system I picked up for $200 with no HD. Now to get more
then a 10 gig that I had laying around to put into it.

My rig struggled a bit with with STALKER but the FLOAT32 mod made everything
ok. And the extra gig of memory. And the new graphics card Wink

I had a similar problem with (believe it or not) Lord of the Rings Online.
It used to crash a little. But the graphics card sorted it out...

....and the new RAM. ...and the new processor. ... and the new motherboard.
.... and the new PSU. ... and finally the new CPU cooler and case.

Amazing how much stuff you can get away with buying (under the other half's
nose) if you spread it out just a little bit! Good job we have seperate bank
accounts! Wink Actually, I need to re-install TRL, and check it out again on
this new set-up.

Back to S.T.A.L.K.E.R. I loved the concept, but tired of it after a while.
One day I'll probably cheat and get directly to Pripyat and the power
plant - the main things that attracted me.

I was chatiing with a colleague about LOR online just yesterday. Its one of
those things that I really must get around to having a go at! The whole
Tolkein thing has been with me since I was about 11 or 12 (and thats a lot
of years ago!) the chance to wander round Middle Earth sounds a lot of fun.

It truly is awesome. I was bought it by my sister for christmas. I don't
think I could have looked more disappointed when I opened it, as I always
perceived online gaming of that sort as a bit...well...sad!

But I was hooked after just a few hours. Nearly 5 months on, my level 36
champion is still exploring new territory, whilst my level 20 lore master is
going around manufacturing metals to supply the champion with. Walking
around the Shire is just fantastic, as is walking into Bree for the first
time.

Absolutely brilliant. If you do get it, make sure you get the Gold Edition.
You can get a horse/pony at Level 25. That's 10 levels earlier than
otherwise. Plus you get 45 days of gaming bundled in.

That all sounds pretty groovy. I reckon I might give it a go, especially if
you can do a trial.

I'm a bit of an on-line gaming newb. In fact a total on-line gamin newb.;
Can you believe that the last hour or so has had my first EVER on-line
gaming experience with an hours worth of gibbing (do the kids still say
that?) in Team Fortress 2 !!!
