| Sokoban problem - Once, i played sokoban because i could not find the staircase down, even with so i went up to sokoban instead, i got past the first few ok, then i screwed up and i had no scrolls of earth again, so i could not complete it, and i could not go..
Miraculously saved in sokoban - Today I hit floating eye in sokobar, and promptla a gnome and an owlbear appeard and started to hit me. I was however saved in what I think is a very strange way. How? -- Wim Benthem
sokoban monster troubles - Hi everyone, I'm pretty new to Nethack (I first played several years ago, and not much until now), and I have the most promising character I've developed so far. However, I have a problem in the last level of sokoban. I'm in the level where you get the
rec.games.roguelike.nethack - 999 subscribers - (google groups) I found this amusing, at least. I'd say I was number 1000 but it doesn't seem to update instantly so I might have been beaten to it.
Wishing suggestions for an extinctionist wizard - Chaotic human wizard, gone as deep as the vally of death and currently camping on an altar on DL:21. This is the first character that im with, and im finding myself wondering what I want to wish for. RNG has blessed me with a 0.3..

3 tripe rations
scrolls

2 scrolls of earth (guarenteed in sokoban)

This person is at experience level 8.
How do I solve the puzzle, and what should I do now? |

TLDR ...
What to do now, depends on your goal:
If a) you want the challenge of solving a more difficult puzzle, just
put your thinking cap on and keep all of the Sokoban rules in mind;
If b) you just want to finish Sokoban for the loot, then count the
boulders and if you have enough go ahead and break one with a pickaxe
or wand of striking, or maybe you need to do some squeezing and if
that leaves you short of boulders then you'll just have to waste a
scroll of earth.
Just remember to consider the potential luck consequences and don't go
praying for food (or something) until you know you're safe.

looks to me like you need to go back up and push B down one and C to
the left one. then you can go back around to the bottom, going
around M, and push F (the rightmost F, that is) up one. That should

If my count is correct:
You have 16 boulders on screen, and 11 holes.
That level starts with 16 boulders and 12 holes.
My guess is this relates to the fact you have two boulder 'F'. Which one

The one that's a mimic:-). A couple of 's' (how many depends on
your luck), and you should be able to see the difference.
