| With this group seemingly dead, where's all the discussion about this game?
Is there another newsgroup where the real discussion is going on?

Not as far as I know - but SCS has barely been released yet!
You may need to be aware that the SimCity Societies website has now been
updated with forums, and that the minimum requirements for SCS are:
Windows XP:
- 1.7GHz Intel or AMD XP2100+ CPU
- 512 MB RAM
- 2.1 GB free hard drive space
- 128 MB GeForce FX 5900 or ATI Radeon 9600
- DX 9.0c
Windows Vista:
- 2.4GHz Intel CPU or equivalent
- 1GB RAM
- 2.1 GB free hard drive space
- 128 MB GeForce 6800 or ATI Radeon X600
- DX 9.0c
Despite the popularity of laptops now, they explicitly state that laptop
versions of these chips are not supported!
Summary, only extreme gaming PCs will cope, but extreme gamers will find it
a yawn from the reviews publsihed to date!!

Yuk...website forums...I spit on them.
Regardless, thanks for the info. I almost pulled the trigger and purchased
this game, but resisted the urge. Need to read more reviews first...

It looks like a skipper to me. I like how complex SC4 is, but I can
understand why Will Wright wanted to take a new direction, but I am not
sure I personally like the result.
Anyways, any games that's similar to Simcity or any business sims you would
suggest for someone who likes Simcity?

square corner roads like in the screenshots> And not to mention roads that
only seem to have 2 lanes??? So what, your average residential one lane for
each direction type roads/streets doesnt exist anymore? Cmon now that is
sad. >> Stay informed about: SimCity Societies |

I'm asking myself the same question while trying to get SimCity 4 to run
reliably on Vista!

In the newsgroup alt.binaries.games.thesims they post a lot of pictures from
the game. >> Stay informed about: SimCity Societies |

| Related Topics: | Simcity 5 - I read somewhere Unfortunately I can't find it now. Anyway what I read confirmed that EA/MAXIS is currently working on SimCity 5! I'll post when I find It again.
SimCity & Windows Vista - Does anyone know if there is a patch for SinCity4 so it will run with Vista? Or maybe they will be coming out with a new SC version compatible with Vista?
Some problems with the game config - I'd like to know whether it is possible to stop SC4:RH from putting its configs (including saved cities) from the "My Documents" folder. I wish to separate my disk partitions and its action is simply utterly annoying.
(on the topic of railways....) - Hi Just a [simple] question. What do you do when your rail stations get over 100% cap? DO i have to go to elevated rail or monorail? I have tried building stations around that particular station - but then they are not used at all!
POLAND - go to www.simcity.forumer.pl or on www.simcityland.friko.pl |
