Does it matter at all what sims wear when they go to bed? Why the
choice between underwear and pyjamas?

My guess is that it relieves your boredom from watching them. <g>
Other than that, I don't think it makes any difference at all.

When they get up and out of bed, if they slept naked they still have
their titties hanging out (males still have their absence-of-body-parts
hanging out), if they slept in PJs they come out of bed wearing PJs
(unless you selected a naked outfit as their PJs) and if they slept in
UW they come out in Uncharted waters -- oops, wrong abbreviation --
they come out in underware.

Ah, thought not. Just wondered if they might not sleep as well in
underwear, for some weird reason. Don't know why not... just thought
they might. Games can be weird.

Indeed. I think it makes sense to wonder, since you can't always tell
easily which choices affect the game and which are just for variety. I
wondered about the nightwear too. And I wondered whether bubble baths
have more effect (say, comfort or fun) than regular baths (I guess
not, but never tested it). It could have been like the way certain
social interactions add or subtract points more than others, while
some seem to be just for variety. Or like napping on a sofa being
less effective than sleeping in a bed. But the nightwear seems to be
just for variety.

It seems to me that the bubble bath takes longer and therefore increases
the comfort level better than a regular bath.

You can also fill an aspiration want with taking a bubble bath - especially
popularity sims.

Best wishes
