Well, if that is indeed the case, they will be losing the paying customers,
then. I think I've bought maybe one console game in the past 10 years and
that was for my son when we got him his Playstation. Any other games he's
had, he bought for himself. A few years back, we got him a PS2 for
Christmas and one game for it, too. He rented games for a long time, then
bought a couple of used ones before he completely lost interest in it. He
gave it to a friend a while back in exchange for a tank of gas, which he
enjoyed a LOT more than he ever did the games! LOL

Neither do we. We had a SEGA systeme when they first came out and one of
the boys still ahs it and gets it out once in a while to play Asteroids
and have a good laugh and we had a PlayStation that I sold with 20 games
to a little boy at a garage sale for 5 dollars....

It kills both story simmers and strategic simmers (which I imagine is
most of the 40% demographic of boys/men) stone cold dead. Frankly, I
think it will kind of put off every nearly group except the totally
casual simmers, and younger children, who will love it.

Ah, gotcha! Cool
Though I wasn't disappointed...

True. And everyone in the hood if you are that way inclined. Micro-managing
them to within an inch of their lives...
..
That Sims3 sounds like a complete change in direction, though as someone
else said, how else could they change the game? As I typed that I realised I
could think of lots of ways to change Sims2 for the better for me but
unfortunately they nearly all include scrapping extra hoods (which adds
variety) (but keeping new building tools and buyables and extra animations)
but improving sim personality depth, interactions etc... but that would be
the 'same game' all over again.
And since I have looked at FT I realised I don;t want to be bothered with
the sims having extra personality aspects. etc.
..
Whatever, I suppose we will buy it in the end.
Like Jeanie, I am a bit burned out ATM.

ooo..now that would be a good one...first have death by flies, then
death by drowning, then everyione starves, etc etc until finally Grimmy
comes and takes all the first born children! Somehow that all seems
familiar....

Yes this reminds me most of the old Sim Earth. There wasn't much you could
actually do with that to call it a game. Install the program. Set a world
up. Go to bed. Wake up and see what had evolved. 2 days later decide it
wasn't worth the space on your computer.

I saw that today too - somewhere, forget where exactly. Anyway, looks like
they're starting with the marketing.

Best wishes

oooo mass murder - damn, here we are talking about what could be changed
about Sims 3 and they didn't think to add that.

The kids have them, but they don't live here. Other than the boomerang son
that is, for however long he is back.
