Not sure if anyone else has come across this:

http://dms2c.net/info/?p=155

Key points:

* Hobby enthusiasm menu - see which hobbies are more suited to your sim
* "The Zone" - When your sim has a full enthusiasm meter, they enter "the
zone", effectively freezing their motives for a period of time. Different
hobbies affect different motives.
* 10 secret lots - One for each hobby category
* Lifetime aspiration meter
* Special skill-building table object for toddlers
* New creature is genie in a bottle who will grant your sim wishes
* New computer games for the PC including Sims 3
* Customisable train table, and new decorating objects, rugs clothing and
hairstyles
* Existing items like the drumkit, guitars etc. can be used as
hobby-building objects
* Option to have your sim's friends age with your sims (teen and up)

There's a lot more covered in the review. It looks like Freetime will
fundamentally change the game's mechanics in a lot of areas rendering some
hacks inactive in the process. At any rate, from what I could tell from the
screenshots (both there and on other fan event reviews linked here:
http://www.snootysims.com/freetimeindex.php?id=fanevents) it seems add a
substantial amount of new options and items to the game and it might
actually be worth getting! Wink

They better make these fricking placeable like University... I don't
want any more Maxis made neighbourhoods in my game. Bad enough I have
to deal with the vacation spots.

Huh? Don't we have this already?

But does he live in said bottle, or with your sims? Can he interact?

Oooh... first look teaser? I'll have to zoom in on that screen real
close to hopefully catch some usual glimts... hopefully they're
screengrabs off the real game...

I think I've seen the video. It's on YouTube. Not all that exciting and it
better be still in the beta or even alpha stage or else it's not looking all
that great at all. On the plus side, the video does appear to be showing
sims being able to freely walk around the neighbourhood. And you can change
their shoes separately from the rest of the outfit (like in the console
games).

Well it's hard to tell, but it looks a whole lot like the Sims 2... at
least on the surface. Hopefully many things we cannot quite grasp
visually from such a pixelated and shrunk video alone have been
improved. But if that really is the neighbourhood screen, then wow Smile
