Figured, "Why Not?"

So I opened up Process Explorer 10.21, gave RNAAPP.EXE a priority of 13,
gave TAPISRV.EXE a priority of 13, even a slow connection seems a bit more
peppier. Haven't had a chance to open up the game yet with this tweak yet
though.

Just tried out the super-laggy Wentworths in Steel Canyon, running those
dialup apps at a priority of 13 equals a reduction of taking 2 minutes of
connection to read to a 1.5 minute delay with a slight 30 second lag burp on
dialup.

Pushing the priority of those 2 apps to 24 (realtime) the result is a
reduction of lag to 35 seconds of lag burp for clicking the Wentworths
representative a second time. Not too bad. Will have to see if my lvl 50
hero can run the Anti-Mayhem mission without being trapped in a lag
immobilization no-movement no-power-firing-off lag trap when approaching the
bank.

Nifty.

Only negative side effect I see for the moment is that the hard drive
access is slowed down with the dialup application taking a very high
priority. I have only tested this for 5 minutes so far. This is a lot
simpler and quicker tweak than altering TCPIP registry settings.

Finally tried the COH anti-mayhem mission with the simple lag-reducing
modem program priority alteration tweak.

Still had my character rendered totally immobile and unable to fire off
powers once I got near the bank.
I will therefore be dropping these missions every single time from now
on.

Haven't tried that yet but most of the time I'm ok.

However each and every time I get within sight of a bunch of Banished
Pantheon (both in DA and in Striga), or a swarm of Supatrolls in Skyway,
or the paladin building thing in Kings Row my pings jump from ~400 to
6000+.

Every time I free a hostage or click a glowie in a mission I also get a
large pause and a jump in ping.

Don't know what they've done but it seems they are now sending a
shitload of information that they didn't before and I suspect it is in
part due to the physics stuff (even when it's not being used on my end.)

Quite annoying when I zap a DE rock type that's a hostage holder and get
soundly thumped by the rubble guys before the pause of the
hostage-freeing subsides.

Have you tried the /neterrorcorrection 1
and /neterrorcorrection 2 commands
Just found them in a thread on the coh webforums and it seems to help a
little.
I tested in Dark Astoria - went a short distance in until the ping
started rocketing up then typed them in and the ping dropped again but
going farther in neither seemed to help much.

Yep, tried them both, nothing de-lags that COH Escort Mission
(Anti-Mayhem).
