Although I realize that simcity 3000 is way past it's days, but
has anyone come across the following scenario in simcity 3000 Unlimited?
City 2,150,000 million inhabitants
All zones high density with majority of land values in commercial and
residential zones being stated as "Astronomical".
At some point, the scrolling news bar shouts "Land values low..." and the
budget which was 200,000 in surplus is now reading -500,000 in the red
although if you query the individual buildings they are still saying land
value: astronomical.
I've looked around for game patches, but there doesn't seem to be any at
all. Has anyone come accross this bug before (including finding out what
the triggering factors are) and is there a way to work around it or even
kill this bug entirely? >> Stay informed about: Simcity3000 (unlimited) - Land value revenue bug. |

Addendum, it appears some else posted about the very sme problem sometime
earlier this year... http://tinyurl.com/yd3sel (links to google
groups article) However, It doesn't appear to be any savings / monetary
limit at all as I let the game run and the money just kept running down
from 16 million down to 10 million.
If anyone is interested in looking at the corrupted city to see if they
can determine what the heck could possible caused this annoying bug, I
will be happy to post (to a website) the affected .sc3 file >> Stay informed about: Simcity3000 (unlimited) - Land value revenue bug. |

SimCity 3000 is a pretty old game.Even SimCity 4000 is old If you look
at <http://groups.google.com/group/alt.games.simcity/about?hl=en>
you'll see that this newsgroup peaked in early 2003, and has been
declining ever since.
I'm still playing SimCity 3000, but that's mainly because I don't have
a lot of time to play games, and have therefore not bothered to buy
many. I just recently bought a new Linux machine, and for my wife's
sake I degraded my old Linux machine by installing Windows XP on it.
That's the first time since 2002 that I've had a working Windows
machine in my home. Most of my old DOS and Windows games won't run
properly on it, but SimCity 3000 was one of the exceptions.
I've resumed work on a rather peculiar city concept I had been trying
out when my last Windows machine failed. It's almost ready now, but I
need to run it for about 40 more game years to qualify for a spaceport. >> Stay informed about: Simcity3000 (unlimited) - Land value revenue bug. |
