A lot of people hated the Silent Hill movie, I for one loved it.
Two seconds ago, I'm sitting here at my computer, and I thought: I want to
find an Air Raid sound. So I did a search and found one, turned up my
speakers and played it. Interesting enough, it totally brought me back to
Silent Hill. I could remember exactly what the movie looked like when it was
turning into "the bad place". My girlfriend sitting next to me, turns to me
and says, 'You know what that reminds me of?' And I instantly blurt out
'Silent Hill', and she says 'YES! I HATE that sound, please turn it off!'
So, now I have to say that Silent Hill the movie is a lot better than I
expected, if just that one sound can bring back such thoughts and memories.
Thanks for listening. >> Stay informed about: The Silent Hill Movie's lasting effects |

Well, it was mainly the critics that didn't like it, but it had pretty good
word of mouth from everyone else. It was a much better movie than I had
expected too.
Some of the imagery has unfortunately been burned into my psyche, like the
toilet sequence - what the f**k is that thing crawling out of that cubicle.
Eewwww!!

That's an interesting interpretation. I missed the possibility of linking
that 'creature' with the guy that was part of the 'explanation' at the end.
Very interesting ... it's what I liked about the movie; that it was
ambiguous (like the ending) and open to interpretation rather than set in
stone.
Oh, and the Chapel Steps sequence was another 'Did I just see what I thought
I saw ?!' moment. Eeek! >> Stay informed about: The Silent Hill Movie's lasting effects |
