I am currently grinding mats for my Frozen Shadoweave set. Can
anyone clarify whether it is truly the case that I can only create
2 pieces of Shadowcloth every 3 days? Every other time that I have
gone out to the Altar of Shadows I have only brought the mats for
the two pieces that I net because I am a Shadoweave specialist.
If I bring double the mats, will I net 4 pcs of Shadowcloth for
that session at the altar? Or is it 2 pcs per session, and I have
to wait 18 days to get the 12 pcs I need for the robe?

That's not to mention the fact that I only have 4 pcs now for the
boots.

As a shadoweave tailor with the mats for one piece of shadowcloth you
proc 2 everytime you make cloth which is ever 3 or 4 days or something
you can also only make 1 piece of spellcloth and 1 piece of primal
mooncloth if you are shadow spec... each of them are on a seperate
cooldown timer, but yeah if you are getting mats together for FSW kit
you should get farm the mats and look around for shadowweave tailors
that have a cooldown available and pay them a couple gold to use it.
my server economy supports that pretty well. Or you could wait the
many many many days you will need to wait in order to make all the
cloth you need. Also, make primal mooncloth and spellcloth on every
CD too cause most ppl will trade 1 for 1on all those specialty cloth

yea you only get 2pcs - I started out shadowcloth and made the set,
then went mooncloth when I decided my mates needed me more for
healing.

In both cases, I bought most of the cloth on the AH so I could have my
set sooner - then just sold the cloth I made later. If you've got the
gold to spare, might as well - there'll always be someone else to buy
what you make.

It's very helpful if you are an Alchemist Transmute Master also... buy
Primal Earth from AH very cheap, transmute the Primal Life and Water
(from Earth) for yourself to use making the cloth = no grinding

Yep, currently grinding mine. As a shadowweave specialist, you can
only make 2 shadowcloths (with mats for 1 due to the proc) every 3.5
days. It does take a while to make. Though that does give you the
chance to go and grind the mats for the rest of the items, like the
netherweb spider silk and the primal water.

Yes, takes a while to make your "set" Sad

However you can make the other two specialist-cloth's as well (only in
batches of one each time though). What you can do then is finding
someone to trade Primal Mooncloth/Spellcloth for Shadowcloth in exchange.

As others have said, yes, you only get 2 pieces each cooldown.

The idea of offering to buy a cooldown for a tip + mats is one you'll
see all the time. I've sold my cooldown many times when I didn't have
the mats (I usually get 10g, but I don't ask for any set amount) to
make any cloth and didn't feel like farming the mats.

The other option (and this will take a lot of luck, though it's worked
on me once) is to offer those same mats and tip for any stock the
person may have saved up. I've done this once when my stock got over
20 pieces. I helped out the player, got some money and lost only the
time it took for me to make the pieces when my cooldown came up.
Currently I have 40 pieces of Shadowcloth, 21 Primal Mooncloth and
less than 20 Spellcloth in my bank. (Oh yeah, and my SC cooldown is up
later today. Smile ) I wouldn't sell all of my stock at once, but I'm a
softie who'd help someone get a few extra pieces here and there. Smile

Good luck!

Don

I found that wasn't worthwhile. As each of those only nets you 1
Shadowcloth rather than the 2 you can make when you're not on CD,
effectively each costs you twice as much. I found it was cheaper to
just buy the Shadowcloth off the AH from people who were Shadowcloth
specialists, and hence pricing each at around 10% more than the mats
cost, i.e. around 50% of what it costs a non-specialist.
