Think of this a minute...
If you were 6 months behind in knowing what was going on, the spring
release of new PS3s would be fresh, and you wouldn't be stuck in this
madness.
Games out wouldn't be new. They would of been thoroughly played out,
and you would only be able to know what has stood the test of time.
6 months behind means you also missed the 360 launch blues to.
6 months behind means you do Christmas in June, when no one else is
doing it.
6 months behind means yoiu can stuff that EB/Gamestop preorder sheet.
Stuff is out NOW, and no insane waiting.
All and all, you avoid the hype, and don't get caught up in the
madness.
Just my 2 cents...

I've decided that it's safer to wait at least a year from initial
launch before getting any disc-media based system. I have a friend who
waited until around March or so to get a 360- unfortunately, that
didn't stop his system from destroying his Oblivion disc. Let's not
forget both the Xbox Thompson drive and launch PS2 DDR error fiascos.
It takes probably at least a year for these issues to truly play out.
And of course, by that time, there is a better selection of games, the
launch hype no longer affects reviews, and the system's potential
starts to rev up. Indeed, Resistance in action looks pretty damn good,
but that's only to be expected from Insomniac at this point- they have
become that good at creating their games (even relative duds like
Deadlocked are still quite playable, if disappointing). But the rest
of the games in the launch lineup aren't faring so well. When I first
saw footage of Mobile Suit Gundam, my first reaction was "you have got
to be f**king kidding me- this wouldn't even be up to late 2002 Xbox
graphical standards". Genji looks nice and shiny, but nowhere near
what Sony's boasting would have you believe a PS3 title would be (what
a surprise.......), and it really looks like the same Dynasty
Warriors/Onimusha gameplay that has become massively overused. Untold
Legends also looks blah-blah as well.
Sony really better kiss Insomniac's collective ass, because if they
decide to split from Sony, it won't bode well for crazy Kenny's plans.
They've released what may be the only worthwhile exclusive for the
initial launch period. Forget the fanboys: the proof is in the actual
games. >> Stay informed about: Secret to inner happiness: Be six months behind everyone w.. |
