Schandaal rond Electronic Arts
Darkzero en Shacknews kwamen te weten hoe Electronic Arts stiekem haar
Wiki pagina heeft aangepast. Dit zelfs in extreme vormen.
EA heeft stilletjes wijzigingen aangebracht aan de Wikipagina over
Electronic Arts. Blijkbaar houdt EA zich hier al geruime tijd mee
bezig. Alle wijzigingen die zijn aangebracht werden aangebracht vanuit
het EA hoofdkwartier in Redwood City. Dit werd bepaald door een
eenvoudige ip controle.
Hoewel meerdere bedrijven regelmatig informatie over zichzelf wijzigen
zijn de aanpassingen die EA heeft gedaan opmerkelijk en vooral talrijk.
Een opvallende wijziging is dat de naam van Trip Hawkins, de eigenlijke
stichter van Electronic Arts, volledig werd verwijdert. Hier is grondig
werk van gemaakt, want ook alle links die naar Trip Hawkins konden
leiden zijn verdwenen.
Een andere grote aanpassing is het verwijderen van een gehele sectie
die gaat over het gerechtelijk verleden van Electronic Arts. Maar dit
is nog steeds niet alles. Het gehele onderdeel dat het personeelsbeleid
beschrijft is bewerkt om het bedrijf in een beter daglicht te plaatsen.
Zo werd het eerste citaat simpelweg vervangen door het tweede.
"Electronic Arts has from time to time been criticized for its
employment policy of requiring employees to work extraordinarily long
hours."
"Electronic Arts has led the industry in reforming work/life balance
issues that are endemic to the software industry."
Alle wijzigingen kan je zelf nakijken op de wiki pagina. De originele
versie kan je links in de kolom zien, de gewijzigde versie staat
rechts. De wijzigingen zelf zijn duidelijk gemarkeerd in het rood.
De aandachtige crew van Wikipedia had deze zaak snel door en heeft dan
ook de pagina herstelt in haar originele versie.

lol, sry about that, it was about what ea games did in wikipedia, they
changed facts that were negative about them in a major way and removed
anything about the founder of EA games 'Trip Hawkins'.
trie babblefish mabye something readable comes out of it.
