Wizard of Wor upright, 4-6/10, hole punched in back door, non-working
and unknown if monitor is working.

Any ideas on market/auction price?

Thanks.

Thanks for the input guys! Although the cab wasn't pulled out of the
garage, there's no visible water damage at first glance. Control panel
was okay and the entire cab could use detailing. So, the 4-6/10 was
more of a fade, wear, scratches, non-working standpoint.

Just for comparison's sake, I paid $300 for my WoW a few months ago --
in great working condition, solid and complete cabinet, nice marquee,
nice bezel, and a new repro control panel. The monitor needs to be
re-capped and it could stand some new sideart, but other than that it's
really nice.

Even though it's a great game and something that really stood out back
in the day, it just doesn't command the big prices like Pac, Galaga,
Star Wars, Donkey Kong, etc., etc.

How is the control panel? Is there water damage or is the 4-6/10 more for
fade, wear, scratches, side art, etc?

If its a 4 and non-working, I'd say $100 to $150 max. I've seen pretty
decent WoW's go for $300 or less even.

Local seller asking $200.00 for this very machine and won't budge on
price. I passed after getting kicked in the chops one too many
times... :-/

Well, Wizard of Wor is a fairly uncommon machine to find locally in any
condition. I'm not saying its rare or anything like that. Just uncommon. The
chances of you finding another one locally to you in any better condition
for less $$$ is pretty remote. Honestly, the game is worth around $50 to
$75. But, if you're a WoW fan and you've got this one locally that will save
you on shipping expenses, then I say go ahead and get it. I mean, the
difference you're talking about is only about $100+/-. Sometimes, in the
long run it's a lot easier to simply put situations to bed and just go ahead
and get the game. Unless, of course, you have a good warehouse you've been
pulling from or auctions that are reasonably close to you that feature a lot
of classics. Most collectors don't.

I paid $75 for mine, no monitor but a decent cabinet (minus back door)
and working boards. I ended up putting a total of $330 (including the
purchase price) into it to get it up and running, but because it was
local and saved me shipping it was, as Brian pointed out, a decent deal
in the end. I'm a huge fan of the game, so I didn't mind putting the
money and work in it to get it going. And I've never seen one go for
much less in its current condition on eBay before shipping.

I got one for $25 once. It was comeplete. I put in a cap kit and a
switching ps and it worked fine (total of about $30). It was slightly
water damaged on the back and top from sitting in a saloon window at a
fake western town at the local swap meet.

We'll it seems like a good deal if you want one and it's the only one you
can find and it within driving distance and you have bought from him before
and thats what he said he paid for it and wants to get out of it. I mean
come on, he wanted it, and bought it for 200 and I guess to him it's worth
200, if it's not to you then you just pass. We have all passed many times
on tons of games.
