Being relatively new to the whole GTA world - I'm trying to decide if this
is a game worth playing (and buying) or not in comparison to GTA: Vice City.
I've heard a few things that make me weary of playing it - such as the
really disturbing language. But I've also heard that, if you can find a way
to remove it, the 'original' is a far better play due to the sexual nature
of it.

So I guess first off - is there some kind of a crack to remove the
censoring? And how does it rate in comparison to Vice City?

Thanks!

Yes I just came across this "hot coffee" thing on several websites after
doing a Google search for censorship and San Andreas. I did also find
something that appears to be a hack for this "hot coffee" thing - a Winzip
file called Hot_coffee_v2-1. I've also found something called
sa_us_1.01_cold.zip and not sure what it does, or if I need it.

I'm also hoping someone out there has a working No-CD patch -- or I guess in
this case it would be a no-DVD patch.

You should definitely get it! It's the best GTA so far.
Don't know about censoring, unless you're refering to the infamous "Hot
Coffee" thing.
"Hot Coffee" was completely removed from 2nd edition and "censored" out in
all variants of the original version (censoring was however easily removed).

I think you've got more to worry about than "really disturbing language".

If bad language is all that makes you weary then you might want to stay
clear of GTA:SA and stick to tiddly winks!! Cool

YES - that's right - maybe I don't like the overusage of the "N-word" and
have issues with it. I grew up in a different time that most of you and was
always taught that the N-word was not something that was used. I can't help
it that African-Americans now use it freely - it still doesn't change its
meaning for me and I don't like hearing it - from white people or black or
purple-polka-dotted.

I have no issues with sexuality or violence - but the N-word -- yes I have
issues!

Homicidal and perverted, yet politically correct. What are today's youth
coming to??

My only problem with the language is that the other people in this house
might get tired of listening to it. At least I don't have kids, or I
probably couldn't play it at all!

you really are a bit of a fruitcake aren't you? Smile

i can understand you having issues with the N-word, but it's not like
in the context of the game it is used in a racially aggravating way.

they don;t have any caucasian/asian or any other non-black people call
a black person by that name.

if the african-american community sees no problem with using it within
that community, i don;t see why you should have a problem with them
doing so.

i wouldn't call a black person by that name, ever, but i wouldn't get
my knickers in a twist if i heard one black guy call another by it.

It's no different than watching Menace 2 Society (great movie), and wasn't
it Carlos Mencia that said "political correctness is a form of racism"? I
was raised the same way, but actions speak much louder than words in my
opinion.

I'll listen out for it on my next run through. It will be a while, though -
I'm just getting started with tags, jumps, oysters etc. I haven't even "met"
Pulaski yet.
