I read that there are only two 22" widescreen lcd monitors that have a
2ms refresh rate. One is the samsung 226bw and the other is an Acer.
Someone said that the Samsung is better than the Acer, which is not
hard to believe, since Samsung is such a great company. So is this the
very best monitor you can get for the xbox and I should just forget
about looking for any others? It seems a 2ms refresh rate is extremely
rare in any LCD monitors of any size right now. |

One of my co-workers has this monitor and really likes it. Although,
he doesn't use it for 360 gaming, just for PC gaming. But he did alot
fo comparisons and he decided on the 226BW.
I have a 225BW which I purchased about a year ago and I told him I've
been really happy with it. I think he liked the fact that he was able
to talk to a Samsung monitor owner too.
I was told that Viewsonic gets their LCD panels from Samsung for their
monitors and don't know if this is true or not, but supposedly, the
better finished panels usually go to Samsung's plants and the rest to
Viewsonic.
When I bought a new Sony TV last year, the sales rep at the Sony store
also told me that Sony gets their LCD panels from Samsung for their
TVs. When I questioned whether Samsung gets first dibs on the panels
and gets to choose which to keep and which to ship to Sony, that he
said he didn't know.
So, at that refresh rate for the 226BW, I don't think you can go wrong
with it. I was just wondering though, why do you want to play your
360 games on a PC monitor, or are planning to? |

I don't have a TV except for the PVR that's in my computer.

Sweet, sweet. Then, yeah, that monitor you're looking at should be
fine for the job until you get your your Plasma.
But one thing my colleague mentioned was that you should avoid getting
an A panel if you can. He said that he read how the 226BWs with the A
panel as opposed to the S panel have color issues and etc.

Does it have a 16x9 ratio? I ended up getting one awhile back that
has a 16x10 ratio, and I get a bit of chop off on the sides.

My Samsung 226bw monitor arrived today. It is truly awesome. It is so
huge and works so great. It's flawless. I hooked it up to my computer.
DVD's looks so much better on it than on just about all the HDTV's at
Circuit City. There's no motion blur and the picture is totally sharp
and crystal clear. From now on I will buy anything made by Samsung
over any other brand. My XBOX 360 is arriving in a few days. I'm going
to use this monitor with both my PC and the xbox. I'm so happy I
bought this thing. It's going to be utterly fantastic for xbox 360
games!!!
Now I just need to buy a DVI switch box so I can hook up both my xbox
and pc to the DVI port of the monitor. Anybody know of a good one for
