So, now the second season of Sam and Max has started. As I liked the first
season, I purchased the entire second season at once and I have now
finished the first episode. I liked it.
Most things work like they did before, but it's not just more of the same.
Most of the recurring things have changed, and there are some new
characters. There's also a new integrated hint system, but I opted to turn
it off and solved the game without hints. As regulars in this group may
know, I'm not a great puzzle solver. Besides Telltale's games, the number
of games I've solved without hints can be counted on the fingers on one
hand.
Still as good looking, moving and sounding as season one, and I had fun
playing. If you liked the first season, you'll want to play this one too.
(And if you still haven't tried season one, now is a good time to do so.
Telltale currently offers the entire episode four as a free dowload. If
you're like me, you may still like to play the episodes in order and start
with the first, but if you're unsure if you'll like the games, that's a
really big demo to try.)

Thank you for that info. I have been "burned" too many times in the past
over edisodic games. I always ended up buying one episode, and then
being left hanging after the company went out of business. I now treat
games much as I do episodic books (e.g. a trilogy). I wait until the
entrie series is done and then go out and buy the whole thing at one
time. So far, it seems to have saved my from Robert Jordan's and Terry
Goodkind's endless series of volumes.
I'll try the demo, and if I like it, I'll buy the first season's games.

I second that, I solved it too without hints and am not that great a puzzle
solver. It's satisfying for me when I am able to do that. It does not mean
that they are too easy though, I had to think now and then
You should be able to play it in widescreen now (I think), and if you have
an normal LCD screen like me you can turn the graphics up to 1280x1024
(native).
The Sam and Max episodes are imo tons of fun. Great characters, graphics and
voice acting. Can't wait until 10th of january when 202 is out
