I'm looking for a mod for STALKER that disables the timed "blowout" when you enter the NPP area, and that allows travel back to
Pripyat from there.
I'm pretty sure I saw something like this before but I cannot remember where, I have Googled to no avail.
I'm running V1.0005.

Here is another good resource.
http://board.oblivion-lost.de/forumdisplay.php?f=98

I've been playing STALKER again recently. When I bought it, I had an
AMD3000+/9800 Pro. It played, but was very klunky. I've since upgraded
my system and played through the new stuff like Crysis and COD4, so I
went back to give this another try on a new system.

Man, was I blown away. I've been playing it for a couple hours every
night. I got the texture mod from the site I linked above, which
improves the graphics quite a bit. I'm just now at The Lab level, and
from what I read, this is one of the creepiest levels in a FPS ever.

I love this game. Flaws and all, it is just so deep and with so much
atmosphere. If you find this mod, please post a location. I'll try it
once I've finished my regular game.

That ABC mod actually looks like it has weird guns and
skins. Maybe this Free play story mod is better:

Thanks for the links.
Problem with the free play mods out there is that I either have to start a new game or they will not work with v1.0005.
Hopefully Clear Sky will be out soon, really looking forward to that!

I'm not sure why exactly I decided to replay STALKER again, but so far I'm having a blast.
I am playing on master difficulty and while at first it seemed pretty tough I've since adjusted. It's pretty much all about head
shots. The biggest problem is the mobs drop very small amounts of ammo (7 rounds or so) so if you cannot buy certain ammo types from
the traders you will not be able to use the higher end weapons very often.
I'm running a few mods. Theres a sound fix mod to get rid of some annoying repeating lines of dialog (get out of here stalker, hello
hello....), a sharper texture mod, an item repair mod and a parallax occlusion map mod for making textures have a 3D appearance.
One thing that's really nice is that STALKER finally has antialiasing support (Nvidia only), it's not perfect as alpha textures are
not AA'ed unless supersampling is employed but it still makes a huge difference. I'm running a 8800GTX and 4xAA is quite fast and
looks great.
I'm really looking forward to Clear Sky, looks like they have added some nice features that probably should have been in the
original game.
