South Pacific, The Search for the Lost Continent of Atlantis has come to
an end. BlackBox and Ragnarook have declared a joint victory and nobody is
constesting it.

The game started with a meager 15 players and one of those did not even
break. Then Carthage decided not to play after breaking. So we were really
down to a lucky 13 active players.

Early on the players decided not to hunt for the giant rumored lost
continent of Atlantis. Rather, they decided to sink their talons into their
neighbors. Throughout the entire game, they came back to this trend. So
prevalent was this "kill thy neighbor" motif, nobody discovered the lost
continent. Of course the fact that the deity never created those sectors
might have had something to do with this.

beep took the yellow jersey after the first couple of updates. But he
got sheep dip all over it and ^^^ inherited the 1st place mantel. Tom held
the spot for about 1/2 the game. But even with WoO, BlackBox was more active
and took the helm for the rest of the game. And that was the way it ended.

And now for the awards (go to www.redgreen.com if you do not get the
references.)

Winston Rothschild III Award - Goes to BlackBox for being the most motivated
and active of all players

Red Green Award - Old and acerbic. Has to got to ^^^

Mike Hamer Award - I wasn't really expecting Raggy to get part of the victory
(heh heh, Raggy. We sould make the nick name stick)

Harold Green Award - The tech leader for the whole game. Goes to Bullseye.

Old Man Sedgewick Award - Resvon. Enough said.

Ranger Gord Award - beep. Also, enough said.

Edgar Montross Award - Blow it up! Blow it up! Give it to Zern!

Hap Shaughnessy Award - Somehow managed to talk himself into living to the
end of the game. That took some real bull$hitting. Goes to ACME.

Dalton Humphries - Just because Dalton is my favorite charater and I had to
mention him. And really, he does not have much going on. Just like
IndustMech and his 22 sectors.

Not knowing what the hell you were talking about, I referenced the
above site to discover:

"Old Man Sedgewick - He's cranky, sour, semi senile, mean and in bad
health. Other than that he is a pleasure to be around. Except for
the smell."

What's up with that!? Are you talking about me or my mother??

we hunted because...

....based on our map, 2 of the three sunk islands 'were' our neighbor, so
we didn't have neighbors to visit, and they would have come in handy

nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition either

you may use it as a private term of endearment with your significant
other, other than that, it will be consider a Hostile Act

Actually Mr. Ed and I did look for it with PT boats. By the time we had
covered the whole world and found all the active players 3+ islands we
figured there was no room left for a large land mass anywhere.

I was hoping all the Atlantis hardware was hidden in sea sectors
scattered around the world and I could trick someone into declaring war
on Atlantis and that autodeclare would kick in so all that Atlantis
hardware would go to work on the hapless victim Smile

At least Mr. Ed and I had the complete bmap earlier than anyone else,
as a reward for our efforts (not that we derived much profit from it
....)

How about a bmap from the deity showing all the minefields? That would
set a record for X's ...

As an assistant deity, I took a few snapshots during the game, when I wasn't too
busy with my new job, travelling on vacation, or travelling on business.
Anyway, here's what I got:
