I just check out Amazon.com here in the US, and the Sims3 is listed
as $49.99, with the collectors edition listed at 69.99. So, it looks
like sims3 is not taking a big jump in entry price. However, I'm not
sure if I'll buy it, despite having bought about every sims and sims2
pack. I don't like the idea of playing one person in a neighborhood
while everyone else goes off on their own. I really don't like their
rent-it style DRM; this alone may keep me from buying it. I don't
like the in-game advertizing and do NOT want my pc calling up the
internet to download new ads while I play. The last two sort of mean
I'd want them to buy me a nice pc to play sims3 so they don't mess up
my computer.

I suppose if everyone raves about it for months, I'll rethink
getting it. Maybe. I looked forward to SPORE for years, but did not
buy it because of the DRM.

be more appropriate for them to give the game out for free because they will
be earning for every eyeball they deliver to those advertisers.

Yep...I don't see where it's worth the effort of pirateing
anyway...Dragonwold certainly doesn't fit into the game unless they do
something drastic to change the format...

I am just going to stick with TS2. I don't feel like investing in 3, and it
really hasn't excited me. Its not that much of an improvement over TS2. I
have been playing Spore anyway. I have haven't played the Sims in a while.

Alas, games on the mac are more expensive....always initial list
price....or at least it seems that way.
