SC4 city vanished

I was playing a new city ,was doing well also ,when I saved just to be
safe....then it locked up and I ctr,alt,del it claimed it was still running
so I tried to go back .All I got was a black screen. I clicked and the city
came back up,kinda.Most of it was black so I exited without saving.Went to
the reagon map and the whole area was gone.Like it had been cut out and ,as
I'm suspecting,thrown away.I exited the game re-opened the game and the city
is still gone.What are my options here?

It is my guess that your city is gone forever. As for the blackness,
uhm..can you create a new city over it? and is your region too important?
You may be able to copy/paste your cities onto a new region or
copy/paste/rename a different city into your blackness. This is all
hypathetical of course and I am sure that there is some code inside the
sc4.* file that tells it which part of the region it belongs. If you have to
copy/paste your cities into a new region make sure it is very
similar(Lot-size wise)if not identical to your old one.
