The last 15 and 20 fires started in abandoned buildings. They are not
occupied anymore and prevent new buildings to grow from existing zones. Is
it wise to tear them down from time to time?

I frequently demolish any abandoned building including those abandoned from
lack of demand.

Build a firestation and that won't be a problem. As for the abandonment
issue, it's a clear warning sign that demand is far out of whack with supply.
Address that problem and you won't be spending good money bulldozing
buildings.
