SAITEK random button problem

I have a friend who recently purchased a NEW Saitek Yoke and Throttle setup.
He began experiencing a "random button" problem. Flying along on final,
viewing from the VC, the sim will suddenly switch to Tower view. A phone
call to Saitek's Tech support requested he go into Properties and move the
buttons and switches, slides, etc. and all the lights worked. At that
point tech support offered no further help except to blame Microsoft. He
received an e-mail a while later stated "Saitek no longer supported these
products by telephone support"
Apparently this is a known problem but he was not able to get any help, thus
far, from the Saitek Forums.

Anyone here had this problem and can offer any solution?
