Hello,
I have recently updated my PC and want to reinstall SC4 and Rush Hour. SC4
went in OK but I can't find the key for Rush Hour. Will it be saved on my
old PC somewhere, in the registry for instance? I'm not asking for someone
else's key but help in finding my own key on my old machine... I guess it
was printed originally on an insert in the DVD-style packaging, but that
must be long gone...
all help appreciated.
cheers
dan

Following up my own post: Don't worry about answering... I found the secret
on the Electronic Arts website:
If your game was recently installed on your computer, the serial number may
still reside in your Windows Registry. To view your Windows Registry,
carefully perform the following steps:

1.. Left-click the Start Menu and choose "Run"
2.. In the Open field, type the following command: regedit
3.. On the left, under "My Computer" (which will appear at the top of the
list), left-click the + next to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
4.. Under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, left-click the + next to SOFTWARE
5.. Under SOFTWARE, left-click the + next to Electronic Arts
6.. Under Electronic Arts, left-click the + next to Maxis
7.. If you see your game listed under the Maxis folder, left-click the +
next to it
8.. Left-click on the "ergc" folder listed under your game
9.. On the right side of the screen, you should see your serial number
listed in the Data field
....well, it worked for me.
cheers

BTW
You can "export" any registry keys to a folder and then "import" them again.

I save the whole of the "Electronic Arts" key to a folder, change the .reg
to .txt and save and print it off as a textfile in Notepad. The .txt can
then be changed back with no problems.

This saves all the registry numbers for future reference if you lose the cd
or pamplet.

Some problems with the game config - I'd like to know whether it is possible to stop SC4:RH from putting its configs (including saved cities) from the "My Documents" folder. I wish to separate my disk partitions and its action is simply utterly annoying.
