A lot of people seem to have problems running daggerfall under the
aforementioned systems, but I have been lucky enough to find a
solution. It took me a little tweaking to get the sound running
right, but I finally got it to work like *almost* new.

First, go to http://www.gamershell.com/download_581.shtml and grab the
installer program. It installs Daggerfall (use C:\dagger) but the CD
is still required to play. Next, toy around with the VDM sound
program that's provided with the file, then reboot. If needed, play
some more with the config files and whatnot to get everything running
smoothly.

I decided to post to this newsgroup for two reasons:
1. I need a copy of slow.com or some other DOS slower so my mouse
clicks aren't read 5000 times.
2. This community looks dead, it shouldn't be so for one of if not the
greatest RPG ever created.

If you're active, post in this thread.

Did VDM work for you? On my system, that batch you have to run
always froze.

Yeah, VDM worked for me just fine, on the current XP platform I'm
running. Thanks for the slow files, by the way. Princess Morgiah
should include links like that in her FAQ.

I have added Turbo, Moslow and SlowMo to my download page:

http://www.svatopluk.com/daggerfall/download/

I guess Turbo will be the most useful one, since it runs under
Windows 95/NT. The other are DOS programs.

If anyone knows of any other shareware/freeware programs of this
kind, tell me about it and I will add them, too.

Nice thing, actually works.
Played a short while, but as soon as I enter the first town I come
across, the game will just crash. :/
