I am having a hell of a time adjusting the (die) rollover switches on
my MB.

I have adjusted these things about 30 times & I just can't seem to get
it right. either the wire sticks up too high and stops the ball or it
is too low to register a hit, I just can't find the middle. And when
it seems right, the switch will last 2 rollovers then migrate lower
into the playfield, these are brand new switches , nice spring back,
the button makes a nice click. Not grinding against the wood, wire
seems straight.

I have made sure the switch is in the middle of the slot and not
getting bound up by the sides.
I have bent the wire every which way & completely understand how this
is supposed to work.

Any and all tips are appreciated !
Am I crazy or has anyone else had this problem ?

Thanks

Relax, deep breath. The flat metal part that pushes the tiny button on the
switch, be sure it is flat, and the ears on the switch it hooks onto aren't
worn. Then check when you push it up and down the switch works. Then hold
the flat metal part with a flat nose pliers, bend the wire as needed.
Practice a bit and once you get the hang of it, it is easy. If the ball
comes to a stop on the metal wire, bend that section of the wire so it leans
forward a bit. Check in switch edge test with a ball. May take a little
tweaking, just don't over think what is going on. Ball rolls by and closes
and opens switch. Pretty basic. It's easy to over tweak a switch and be
farther from where you need to be. LTG Smile

Monster Bash rollover switches are funny. I have seen a couple of
machines wher e the mounting holes are too far from the slot. So the
first bend in the wire jams into the corner of the slot, shortening the
throwof the switch. This makes it impossible to adjust right. So check
out the wire at the point where it goes through the wood, make sure
that it is not touching. If it is, you'll need to move that first bend
out a bit.

Try a newer stern half-round actuator on a pesky switch. (Lord of the
Rings). The throw is longer, and because it is round, it is less apt to
hang the ball, no matter how far into the playfield it is. (Better
operator trick, also overcomes clearcote thickness issues!)

I hear ya Lloyd,
I have stripped this MB to the playfield shopped and reassembled it
including fixing the scoop wear, Done a JD including A complete
rebuildi of the planet and gearbox & I know exactly what you just
described, but there must be something with MB because it is just
stubborn Smile It is such a simple adjustment & it is driving me crazy.

It is really tight in that spot, so I have to lift pf, unscrew the
switch, adjust switch , rescrew in switch, turn game on ,lower pf , go
into switch test, try to get the ball to roll down the right lane ,
too high swear.. Repeat. too low , repeat, ball gets stuck, repeat,
too low, over and over Smile

Eventually you'll get tired of this and make tinier adjustments and get it
right sooner. It's just one of those little pain in the butt problems that
haunts you. You'll get by it. Hopefully before you break the wire and need
to start over. LTG Smile

Yep , that prety much describes it.
I am glad, I am not the only one to see this on MB.
I get it lined up as close to the middle as I can before tightening
down the nuts , looks good and after a couple of rollovers, that first
bend ends up twisting to the wood causins the switch to sit lower. If
I adjust the switch higher & the switch doesn't stick it goes high
enough to stop the ball.

Back to tweaking that first bend.

As long as I am not the only to see this, I feel much better.
