Hi
Had a look at the official boards today, and theres a fair amount of
contreversy over the new rogue 41 talent surprise attacks, many are claming
it is actually a damage reduction (something to do with crits.)
I dont really understand how that works, but asking on the official forums
is inviting abuse ;D.
Anyone here understand the maths?. Is it really a reduction of damage?. On
the surface, for a swords rogue it sounds quite nice.
Cheers. >> Stay informed about: Rogues new talent Surprise Attacks, will reduce overall da.. |

I think the argument was that it's more efficient when you have a very high
crit chance to have an attack dodged and get some energy back, giving you
another chance at a crit, rather than just getting a normal hit. I didn't
really follow it too well as it looked like an utterly useless talent
anyway... as always rogues get the short end of the stick it seems; most
other classes have talents and spells that look really good while ours are
nothing to get excited over. I'm currently looking at a 24/37/0 build,
using only two new talents, neither of which interest me that much; they're
just something to spend the points on.

I came to the conclusion surprise attacks not worth it too. Also as im out
of pvp now (hit rank 10 but burnt out doing it).
I am not interested in nerves of steel, and vitality seems pretty awful.
So, looking at assasination tree now, thinking seal fate would be nice with
AR/swords.
our guilds grown now, and its getting hard to stay main DPS...so lack of a
direct damage buff talent in combats a little worrying. >> Stay informed about: Rogues new talent Surprise Attacks, will reduce overall da.. |

Well i did think of going back to my warrior, i dont really enjoy my rogue
anymore and regret making him.
I seem to be popped constantly out of stealth in BG and lag makes
positioning BS/Ambush a nightmare
(hence back to swords).
But warrior: In blues with a couple of greens, no real rep work done.
Rogue: Mix of epics/rank 10 gear. With rep done for lots of factions
Its hard to go back to the warrior and write off the work done on the rogue
if that makes sense?. >> Stay informed about: Rogues new talent Surprise Attacks, will reduce overall da.. |
