I've now disabled this mod although it was very useful. Simply disabling
this has stopped the *very* frequent CTD's I was experiencing.

I'm just trying to understand if anyone else has seen this behaviour and
maybe if there is a solution or alternative mode that offers similar
functionality.

Cheers
Cloots.

CTD? I guess you mean disconnect but what does CTD stand for?

Does EnergyWatch tell you when you are about to get a new energy
tick? If so I use IceHUD to do that for me. It is a HUD addon (as
the name would suggest) but adds an energy tick watcher to the energy
bar.

Hmm... I tried it out soon after the WoW 2.0 patch but for some reason
(that I can't remember now) I disabled it after a short evaluation
period. Back then I couldn't find an alternative mod and haven't looked
for one since.

I wasn't having CTDs but I was having very 'stuttery' behavior after
patches 2.05 and 2.06. I don't believe this was caused by lag (my bar
was always in the low green range) but due to some memory or other
types of mod conflicts.

So I disabled all my mods (per Blizzard's suggestion when you first
log in Smile ), and voila! Stuttering/etc went almost to nil.

Since then I have enabled only one mod (Monkey Quest) and see no 'bad'
behavior. I suspect many of the mods create some conflict with timers/
memory/caching/whatever.

Anyway, the 'easy' test is to disable all mods and see if you still
get the problem.

Steve could you explain a little further what IceHUD does and how the
energy tick watcher works? Like, are their sounds? Is it visual ? i
can't access certain sites from work so i can't look into it further
myself, appreciate it!

energy usage. Will check out IceHUD - cheers

You get a number of semi-transparent bars either side of your
character. Like this: \\o// where o is you. Each bar represents a
different thing and there are loads of options which can be enabled or
disabled as you wish. There is your health, your mana/energy/rage
etc. This info is also available for your target too. On your energy
bar there is a horizontal line that starts at the bottom and moves to
the top - when it gets to the top you get more energy. There aren't
any sounds.
