I made it to Outland today. I did one of the first quests with relative
ease, and earned a nice dagger that I use as my main hand weapon now.

Saw a level 70 sub spec rogue in my travels and he was dual-wielding
maces. I don't see the advantage of maces for a sub-spec, can someone
explain that to me?

Good point, problem was I found myself drowning in poisons mats all the
time so ended up vendoring them to make bagspace, then having to buy
them again when I needed to make poison. Not the most efficient way,
need to rethink that when I get back to playing my rogue!

Hehe handy indeed, plus you get to use all the trinkets from Shattered
Sun rep - helpfully my two alchemists are paladin and druid, so will
always get something useful out of it Smile

That talent is in the combat tree not sublety. The rogue probably was
using maces because he *could*. Sublety spec doesn't need a specific
weapon type, and it's nice to have the maces I guess in case you want
to change to combat mace (stun) spec at some point.

However, I will be getting the swords I think so that I can raid with
those weapons by switching to combat swords.

The weapon type (aside from daggers) doesn't make any difference for a
Subtelty rogue but gives him the possibility to pick up Mace spec (which
is nice for PvP) if he decides to respec.

For 'trash' mobs that die relatively quickly yes, double instant poison is
better.

Tool what level when you went?

I have read a lot about mace spec. since it has a chance on hit to
stun for something like 6 seconds and maces are a LOT more abundent
than swords. People use them. And of course pvp stun

I need to wait another bubble or 2 before popping SnD.
It has been running out on me with level 55 and up mobs before they
die.

overall do you feel that a rouge in outlands is a good as other chrs?
Like my pally was unstoppable until about level 68 then he turned into
a dud 69.5 now and I keep saying ok get the last 1/2 ...err ahhh
excuse number 101. Lots of spell casters and very high hit points on
the mobs once I hit area 52. SAD

Warlock was dem spec and went thru everything with the fel and never
had much problems.

I have a level 60 shadow priest and was going to play it next, but for
some reason I went back to this little rogue trying to find some fun
in the game again. OK it was fun up to about 52-53 range then he
became a very s l o w killer. Yep he works but not exactly what I had
invisioned.

ps unrelated....just like the rest of my post LOL
I have 238 in picklock and went to the tower in badlands to level it
up. The mobs attack in groups and some eletes there. After having to
fight 6 or 7 no stop and pulling 3 more from a runner I vanished. OK
let me get back up...one mob ran off for about 10 yds. came back and
hit me once, then ran off again..WTF
he came back with about 3 more mobs and I got killed.

WHAT HAPPENED.
Vanish and stealth meant nothing, first time I have seen this.

also what is best way to get up in picklock from 240

He's likely a PVPer. Subtlety is the PVP-oriented tree, and there's
a talent that gives your mace strikes a chance to stun your opponent
for a few sconds -- stun is *huge* in PVP.

If you're talking about speed and ease of leveling, I'd have to say
no, there are faster classes than a rogue. Personally, I enjoy my
rogue at 70. Farming is trivial (as long as I'm not mutilate spec) and
PvP is fun. He's also a lot more relaxing to play in a group than my
(tanking) warrior.

It happens occasionally that Vanish just doesn't work. Get used to it.
<g>

From what I recall (this was before the expansion), I did the stretch
from 225 to 300 mainly in Searing Gorge, in the dwarf tunnels. Not
only do you have lockboxes scattered throughout the tunnels, you also
have lots of convenient slaves to pickpocket for lockboxes.

The initial doors in BRD are also good for skillups.

You passed 57. Ditch the Monkey gear and get Bandit gear ASAP. Any
level 57 Bandit gear will beat level 57 Monkey gear hands down...

Thanks Frank I need to go there.
I got the bright idea in winter to pick pockets north or town.
Great I have 8 lock boxes. 255 AHHHH HECK LOL
They are a little to high right now.

Did you take improved SnD?
only one thing to say DOH

Ok I have one more question. I am 60 now. Questing and grinding
all weekend, need sleep. NO NOT WORK!! is it monday already?

I found 3 pieced of bandit armor and this made a difference in him
that I could really see.
Still no weapons...believe it or not there are 0 1H swords on the AH
between 50 and 60.
Not for rogues but any sword. I just stood there and thought ok maybe
I have a filter or something. Nope...unbelieveable

My friend made one more comment. Just level to 70 in instances.
Can this be done?

It can be done but I wouldn't recomment it. Doing the same dungeons
over and over gets old.

I don't know if you're playing in Outland or the old world at 60 but
getting decent weapon upgrades in HFP shouldn't be a problem from what
I remember. If you're alliance, try to get to honored with Honor Hold
faction, I think the faction vendor has a decent 'blue' sword. You can
get honored by either doing all of the HFP quests or running Ramparts
a couple of times.

Also, look up 'Bladefist's Breath', a trinket you can pick up in HFP
that I still occasionally use at 70.

Still use that one myself - nothing better has dropped to replace it, yet.

I ended up with 2 macros - one for a trinket and Adrenaline rush, one for
Blade Flurry and the other trinket. I also put Berserking in whichever one
of those had the weaker trinket.

Probably not exactly optimal, but if I didn't do it that way, I'd forget
about something. Splitting them up also helps keep things a bit more
steady as far as threat is concerned.

I have only been able to find 3 pieces so far.
I have 4.3K hp
+203 agility
1770 armor
damage is low 228-295
705 AP
17% crit

worst is the weapons
2.6 of the bandit level 58 sword main hand
1.6 of the monkey level 53 sword off hand
I can't find ANY swords and the AH has 0 50-60 swords

(what is the slowest off hand I can get by with?)

I have still not gone to OL I keep making excuses...well let me get a
better weapon, let me get some armor. Just 96G more to get epic mount.

ps to me epic mount is the greatest thing in ol.
You can outrun a lot of problems where on the std mount you have to
stop and fight everything you pass by.
