Um....no. There are three gangways you can climb to, and I've tried
all five doors that are up there, no dice.

Ah, yes I'd already made it past there, now I'm in the area with the
"tower" and the "orange tube" in the middle.

Know what I'm supposed to do here??

Well I was referring to the bit immediately after the start, where you
are released from the cell, and the guard goes through the security door.
You release and climb up the ladder to your left (coming out of the cell),
climb up go around and in a very dark corner near the ladder is a grate to
smash through and crawl to the next area.

hum, is that the guard station? you have to get inside it, there's a
door on one side of it. now, you should have the voice of the prisoner
basically telling you what to do. i think there were two or three separate
buttons to push before you get full access to it.

I'll fire it up again later tonight, as I've been playing thru HL2 again
anyway. This new cpu+vidcard run HL2 at 2048x1536 at the same speed I used
to run 1024x768 at

I do not know exactly where you are, but I have a feeling you just got out
of the cell area and are in the circular room.

If so, Go and try all of the doors again at the floor level. Be sure to try
both sides of the two door exits. On one of the doors, one side opens and
the other doesn't.

Hope this is the info you needed.

I thought I posted this once, but it is not here.

If you are in the circular room, try BOTH sides of all of the doors at floor
level. One side of the door opens and the other doesn't.
