Can someone please confirm for me the type of marquee starter I need
for a Robotron upright? I just picked up nice Robo, but the marquee
tube and starter are missing. The Robo parts catalogue just says
"Fluorescent Lamp" and "Starter" without giving specifics. I've done a
search on here and found that it should take a F15T8 tube and FS-2
starter. Is this correct? What should the starter's wattage be? And
I'll be sure to check if the ballast is good before installing the new
parts.

Thanks,
Corey

If its got the factory tube sockets still installed you need an F14T12CW or
F14T8CW. The F15 is 3 inches too long. The starter your looking for is
either an FS-2 or FS-U.

I think Robotron had one of those big fat tubes in it, I'm not sure of the
bulb.. But, you can retrofit it to use the current setup by moving one of
the bulb connectors. I thought Bob Roberts or someone had a page to show
you how to retrofit it but I can't find it. I would suggest going the route
of using the easier to find F15T8 bulb and the FS-2 starter. The ballast
that's already in the can will work just fine with it.

I found the appropriate bulb at Home Depot; I didn't have to mod the fixture.

The starter is just an FS2 starter.

Nice.. my Home Depot and Sears Hardware don't always have that bulb in
stock. Nice to see you're keepin it real.

Well, got the starter at the hardware store and had to go to Living
Lighting to find the bulb. Got home, the ballast checked out, threw in
the starter and bulb and it fired right up. Thanks, again to all. Who
says you can't get good info on RGVAC anymore? Not me. Smile
