I don't if any UK Thief fans have been watching the BBC's new version
of Robin Hood, but did any of you get a feeling of deja vu when the
"Night Watchman" character was revealed? I've posted some links to
some pictures to show everyone what I'm talking about.

So, for the benefit of those of us that are non UK Thief fans, who is she?

Re. deja vu are you talking about T2x ?

Can't help it but the new Robin Hood smacks decidedly 20th century. Don't
think they were talking back then like 'you have to play within the
system'. The concept of a political system as it is meant here is a
relatively recent modern one , though I haven't done any search on Google
or Wikipedia on when it first showed up.

(Actually I have now and it seems to go back to the Romans and the Greek
in a scientific sense and the decimal system, but that's not the same
here.)

Medieval societies were feudal relationships and I'm sure the ordinary
peasant or lower aristocrat had no concept of a socio or political system
determining his place in the world, let alone would know and use the word.

Thus I'm not gonna watch it anymore, it's lost it's credibility, how many
times has R.H. been remade anyway?

Well the actress is Lucy Griffiths who plays Marion and the "Night Watchman"
is her alter ego.

Well partly, but the whole outfit seems very Thiefy.

I wouldn't take it too seriously as it is basically a kids programme about
a bunch of blokes who may not have even existed.
