OK so I tried installing the demo and no go, but I went and bought the retail
version cause I figured eh its a demo prob just an isolated problem.
Anyway the game goes thru its installshield thingy or whatever
then when it gets to the end of the installation with all files complete it
says: "The wizard was interrupted before rise of legends could be completely
installed".
But the thing is I dont do anything I just let it install, ive tried
diffrent directories, diffrent install options, clean boot, safe mode doesnt
work cause installshield wont boot up, defragged, scan disk, and selective
startup.
I also have 44gigs free on my drive as well. I dont get an error message,
the install just stops for whatever reason, antivirus is also disabled. >> Stay informed about: Rise of Legends install problem |

When I try to install it, when it tells me to put in the second disc, I pop
out the first one and a pop up comes up and says there is no disc, I ignore
it because if I dont it tells me installion failed, it looks like it installs
but when I hit play to play the game nothing happens it dosent even check for
the disc, any help would be appreciated, I thought it might be a corrupted
disc and exchanged it for a new game and it does the same thing.

Has anyone found a workaround for this problem? Is anyone else affected by
this problem? The installer does the same thing when installing on my
computer... I've tried removing the registry entries left behind, attempting
the install multiple times, installing on another computer to verify the
media (it worked), etc. Nothing seems to help.
My computer is running Windows XP Professional, SP2, fully updated, DirectX
9c. Plenty of free HDD space, system is beyond recommended specs.
Ideas, please? >> Stay informed about: Rise of Legends install problem |

Microsoft's "Tech Support" had no clue, but an obscure reference on another
board led me to the solution. I have no idea what the root cause is, but
uninstalling XP SP2, then installing RoL, then reinstalling XP SP2, works.
It seems like overkill (there has to be another fix), but it works! >> Stay informed about: Rise of Legends install problem |

Has this worked for anybody else? I have the full version which installs
(apparently) correctly but no joy on game launch. Nothing, not even a cd
spin. Un-install SP2?

Hi Sundown.
I have installed Rise Of Legends yesterday, and I have SP2 (which I find
absolutely indispensable) and it works just fine.
Maybe the problem is not in SP2, and I don't think that the "solution"
of uninstallig and reinstalling SP2 is nothing more than
a waste of time and a guaranteed head-ache.
Do you know what I think? Maybe your PC is suffering from a lack of
"muscle" to deal with this software...
