Well, it's one hour and thirty minutes (including commercials) in, and
so far, I'm enjoying Pokémon Movie 10. Some fun points so far...
A fun montage at the beginning of the film featuring all of the
central Pokémon from the previous nine films (Mewtwo and Mew, Lugia
and the original Legendary Birds, the Unown and Entei, Celebi and
Suicune, Latios and Latias, Groudon and Jirachi, Lucario and the
Legendary Golems, Kyogre and Manaphy, and finally Ho-oh (the first
legendary seen in the anime to begin with) and Mew again). Gotta love
continuity.
We can easily place this somewhere between Eterna City and Hearthome
City so far as the anime goes, given that Dawn's Buizel is present and
Ash's Chimchar isn't. This is the best dating for the films we've seen
since Movie 3 I'd reckon.
A new opening theme song (geez, I hope it's the Season 11 theme song
and not something exclusive to this movie).
Some of the battle sequences between Palkia, Dialga and Darkrai are
really impressive. And while it's kind of a given that Darkrai wasn't
the bad guy, it's still clear he's connected to the plot in a big
way.
Lastly, the floating dream Pokémon. Fun!
Plus, I think this is the only movie so far that's had a Nurse Joy
appear but didn't have an Officer Jenny. There's a neat bit of
trivia.
Anyway, that's it for me. Your thoughts? >> Stay informed about: "Rise of Darkrai" Remarks |

Gonna have to correct myself...Brock's Happiny is there too...that's
an even narrower period of time!
