Rikti Invasion, lag, slideshow hell. 3 years of gameplay f..

This latest episode was a complete and utter disappointment for me.

I have a 2 ghz PC with a ATI X850 card, raid drive, Audigy soundcard,
a gig of ram, and the best broadband package my cable provider offers,
and yet I am frequently plagued with nigh-unplayable framerates when
involved in large team missions, especially with fire-imp
controllers.

I tried to get into some of the Rikti missions and they lagged so hard
I had to bail and go back to some solo missions.

I have tried dialing back detail settings, texture settings and
everything else. Every new update increase the lag, increases the
slideshow hell, and at some point I know I will have to upgrade but I
can't afford 3 grand to upgrade my family's computers just to play a
game my wife wants deleted anyway.

Update all your drivers. I have frequently found that a new issue brings
lag and framerate problems until I update to this-week's drivers - mostly
video, sometimes audio, sometimes the minor stuff.

Since CoB is Nvidia-oriented, I don't find it unusual that they work with
the very latest driver tweaks. I've also heard that the ATI tweaks take a
little longer to reach users because there's some catch-up happening.
