Post subject: Results: Louisiana Qualifier: Hell's Fool
Archived from groups: rec>games>trading-cards>jyhad (more info?)

We had a hard fought qualifier with 13 players in attendance. There was
a even representation of rush, vote and bleed decks there. Going into
the finals the rankings were

Kelly Lyons 1 5.5 Presence Princes with Token Justicars
John 1 5 Saulot "Juicebox"
Joey Theriot 1 5 Akunanse Bruise/Bleed
David Tatu 1 4 Nossie Princes
Robin Tatu 1 4 Ventrue-Antitribu Block-N-Bleed
Jacob 1 4 Malkavian-Antitribu S&B
Barrette 1 2.5 Brujah Bruise/Bleed
David 1 2 Gangrel Rush
Justin 0 2 Nossie Princes
Bob Bell 0 1.5 Gangrel Politics
Chris 0 0 Baali S&B with the Great Beast
Paul 0 0 Didn't See him play
Chris Poupart 0 0 Gangrel Rush

In the Finals the seating was Robin>Kelly>John>David>Joey. Kelly came
flying out of the gates with his superior Presence Princes and Token
Justicars deck. He hammered into John repeatedly. Robin with her
Ventrue Antitribu Bruise-Bleed Deck with Pulled Fangs and John with his
Saulot "Juicebox" deck struggled to keep Kelly from ousting John.
Meanwhile, across the table from Kelly, Joey was laying into Robin with
his Akunanse Bruise/Rush Deck that was from turn 2 until the end of his
time on the table bleeding for 3 with computer hacks and Predator's
Mastery. Robin fell early under Joeys unrelenting assault of Whistling
Up the Beast and Devil-Channel Hands.

Kelly was feeling the hairs on the back of his neck stand up from
watching Joey grind up Robin. Kelly makes a deal with David, who is
play the ubiquitous Nosferatu Princes deck, to back oust Joey if he
will help him with John. Joey soon falls under the combined political
pressure from the combined political pressure of the Brujah, Nosferatu,
Toreador, and Ventrue.

David gets a V.P. for ousting Joey, but still has to deal with the
unrelenting pressure from John, whom Kelly has brought down to 2 pool
twice so far in the game without being able to close the deal. John's
combat is too much for David's Nossies to handle, and he falls.

Down to the end game 3 hours later, Kelly ends up with 5 minions in
play 2 of whom have 3 or 4 Guardian Angels on them each. John has
Saulot and gang out . Kelly's hand is jammed up with vote push, but he
keeps laying into John. John uses his Rutor's Hand and Perfectionist to
hunt for 2 blood every turn and use his blood dolls to rake it back off
into his pool. John get decked and only has 1 card left in his hand.
Kelly passes a 1st Tradition Masquerade. This backfires. John has no
problem paying for 2 pool per turn with his Saulot hunting engine.
Kelly on the other hand freezes up and passes on his turn three turns
in a row which allows John to lay in some critical bleeds and
recouperate some. Kelly begins to lose heart and offers to let John
withdraw.

John takes the deal and withdraws with 2 VP's and the game win.

Congradulations to John on an excellent victory!

The Ranking after the finals was the following

Finalists Place
6 John 0 1
5 Kelly Lyons 2
7 Joey Theriot 3
10 David Tatu 4
12 Robin Tatu 5

Since Robin was already qualified Louisiana will be sending John,
Kelly, and Joey to the North Ameriecan Championship as the players who
weathered the trial of blood and fire to stand proud before the rest of
the competitors to try and earn the title of North American Champion.

Oh yeah, I get to go too!

Library [90 cards]
Master [14]
2x Blood Doll
1x Giant's Blood
7x Minion Tap
2x Perfectionist
2x Sight Beyond Sight

Action [20]
8x Renewed Vigor
1x Rutor's Hand
4x Sense Death
7x Spirit Marionette

Action Modifier [13]
6x Freak Drive
3x Psychomachia
4x Repulsion

Action Modifier/Combat [6]
6x Burning Touch

Reaction [14]
3x Eagle's Sight
6x Forced Awakening
5x Spirit's Touch

Combat [23]
8x Anesthetic Touch
2x Apportation
2x Fake Out
3x Skin of Steel
3x Superior Mettle
5x Vitae Block

The Deck is pretty solid and in each round the cards cycled well enough
to get my down to little or no library toward end-game. Basic concept
is pull Saulot out first and use him to use his built in influence to
allow you to bring out Eurayle your next transfer phase. Aredhel is
pretty much there for blocking and chump bleeds. Minion tap Saulot or
blood doll and drop two down during untap. Then Eurayle uses Renewed to
fill him back up and repeat the process. Putting Perfectionist on
Eurayle lets her fill him up for free. Slap 1 Sight, 1 Perfectionist, 2
Blood Doll, 1 Repulsion, and 1 Rutor's on Saulot and he is a perfect
Juice making machine. Had that set up on final table and was able to
drop two off from Dolls then hunt and gain two from hunt and
perfectionist then untap with rutor's take another action and untap
with Eurayle or a freak drive to block and punch people for 2. With
this deck you can usually ignore bleeds unless its a biggun or you need
to cycle, saved most of my intercept to ruin people's equip, rescue,
and vote actions. The Deck pulls of Saulot bleeding for 3 most of the
time with a back up bleed of two from Eurayle, or if Im lucky I can
Marionette someone with bleed pump with Saulot, untap, then bleed with
Saulot and pump it to 3 with Burning Touch. I love when peole have
inner circle members to marionette.

What would improve the deck i think is finding room for 1 or 2 flak
jackets, a Heidelberg Castle, and maybe a Mylan Horseed

The Qualifier was a blast and it was a big confidence booster seeing a
fairly unique deck I made win out. Though the last round was won mostly
on table talking and what seemed to be reluctant help from cross table
allies, it still held itself against 2 predators when it got down to
the last 3 on the table. I'd like to give more detail about the rounds
but I dont have the time. Will post later unless Norm wants to take it
from here.[/i]

FAQ - Tournament Winning Deck Archive

To get your deck added to the archive, do the following:

4) Include the following information in your report:
a) Name of Event
b) location of event
c) date of event
d) number of players in attendance at event
e) the correct full name of the winning player
f) the entire correct contents of the deck

---------------------

E is not included, so the deck cannot go up.
F is doubtful, per his post on presence.vekn.org.

Please correct these items so that he can get his fair share of
'Fame'.
