Hi

To get skyscrapers what do i need? My residential is all very small
buildings, even when i build $$$. I have a big amount of these homes. I have
seen pictures on the net where peopel habe residential skyscrapers with only
a fraction of what i have - the area is much smaller. So if i make a city
and only zone a small amount of residential and play it at fastest mode then
will it get into a skyscraper faster? How are people doign this?

You need to zone high density residential and have a large population.

And have good schools, hospitals, traffic and low population. Also
developing adjoining cities help. The game has an inbuilt pop cap. The
pop won't go beyond this no matter how long you wizz into the future.
You have to do the things I mentioned to raise the cap and thus
increase demand.

That's all well and good, but i do have every single school type; ie Uni,
College, High and Elem Schools. However there is little demand for schools,
my Elem School inly has 4 people in it, and High only 12, so i am not
spending that much on schools, and the population isnt really growing that
fast. Will the numbers increase as the population does?
What else can i do to make the city demand higher? Ive tried to put in
neighbours that have just Agra and some Res in them and link them to my city
which has dirty industry and commerce, plus residential, but it didnt seem
to do much. The commerce demand was minimal, even though all the other
cities had a huge demand for it.

A while ago i made a city that linked one of my large cities (all low res
unfortuantely) to another city, i called it Simlim City, and it was never
meant to be anything but a road. However all the demands for everythign were
so high, and i think i got my very first skyscraper playing this city VERY
early on. Things just developed form there. I now dont have the city, had to
format my pc, and now i just cant get the same thing going; very annoying -
i dont even know what it was i did in the first place to get the demand up!
