Res. Evil 4 Chicago Typewriter Question

Hi guys,

Been playing RE4 (NTSC version) for a while now and it's awesome! I'm
on my 2nd round now (normal level) and have nearly saved up enough
money for the infy rocket launcher.

However, I now want a Chicago Typewriter instead, after reading about
them. I understand they only appear after completing Assignment Ada?

If so, my question is this: will the typewriter appear in the
merchant's list on my game saved half way through round 2? Or do I have
to complete AA *before* starting a new round to make the typewriter
appear?

Nope. You have to load a saved completed game file from the beginning
to get the CT to appear at the merchant (assuming you complete AA).

So, what I would do is:
Complete AA
Complete your runthrough and save
Load the saved completed and play to first merchant to get CT

I personally prefer the IRL to the CT. CT makes the game too easy,
whereas the IRL makes the game easy, yet with a little measure of
toughness as well.
