Ok, so I'm just not getting fired up about the new Ravnos stuff.

I've never been a huge fan of the Ravnos, but the same can actually be
said about all the independent clans. However, unlike the Ravnos, I
have made 2 FoS decks, a Giovanni deck, and have seen a couple of
concepts for the Assamites that I will want to try out soon.

And beyond just me, I have seen and heard the concepts for a bunch of
pretty decent decks for all of the above 3 clans using mostly new tech
from the new set.

But for the Ravnos, it still seems like Mata, Tsunda and Week of
Nightmares are the only Tier 1 or Tier 1.5 decks they have, and I am not
seeing or coming up with concepts that I like for them based on the new
cards.

Help me out - what cool concepts have you fired up for the Ravnos since
the Lords of the Night?

best -

chris

Fired up? Nothing. I find the new stuff for them to rate high in the
boredom. But, they probably didn't get much new to do because they
already have plenty.

w/ Dementation, w/ Thaumaturgy, w/ Auspex are things that could be
done. I find it hard to care since Chimerstry does so much by itself,
but these are something else to do for some people.

I think you could say that about all 3 other Independent clans as well.

Really? Chimerstry Dementation? That might be interesting.

Right. In other words, the new set isn't doing it for you either. For
me also, the new cards for the Ravnos and chimerstry seems "to rate high
in the boredom."

But I am willing to have my mind changed.

Will-o-the-Wisp and False Resonance are very interesting as anti-
bounce tech. But CHI + DEM in Ganesh, Kiradin, Phaedyme is the only
thing I've been inspired to play around with, yet. The new chimerstry
cards are not exciting, but they're useful. Some of the new Ravnos
vampires are pretty cool.

I find the Giovanni and Necromacy stuff to be very dull, duller than
the Ravnos and Chimerstry. The new necro cards are dross. There
still is not much reason to ever use G4 or G5 Giovanni, except maybe
Protean or Guillaume + locations.

Well, I don't know if this is really lords of the night since I am
quirky and about 3 years behind, but the ravnos deck that is causing
lots of moans on JOL is the Whack-A-Mole, which I have posted here. I
have a version that uses the new vampires, but I just can seem to get
the synergy going that I do with the Group 2 vampires. Although a lot
of the Group 4 Ravnos have pre, which is fantastic for undue Influence
so you can shift gears from chi to pre when your prey stops bringing
out vampires. Smoke and Mirrors is super hot for chi. False
Resonance is anti-bounce tech which is sweet. I have seen a Mata
Nightmare Curse deck that should have died but swept the table
instead.

Anyway, I hope that helps.

Indestructible stealth bleed. Just focus on Ganesh, Kiradin, and
Phaedyme. Good stealth bleed with Kindred Spirits, Freak Drive
possibilies, Illusions of the Kindred for total rush immunity. Sensory
Deprivation to keep your predator off your back. My buddy John has a
deck like this, and it is pretty effective.

I guess I am in the minority; I found some good stuff and some good
vamps for the Ravnos. Like Vincent, I started out playing Ravnos with
an FN deck, and I have always liked them for their versatility. I
think that, properly constructed, they can also be pretty mean. Like
Peter said, I put together a pretty simple CHI/FOR/DEM deck that is
very efficient and durable. Not a lot of surprises, but pretty
solid. Here it is (pardon the unusual formatting, it is from my JOL
decklist):

Crypt: (12)
3x Phaedyme(G5)
3x Ganesh(G5)
3x Paul Forrest, False Prophet(G4)
3x Kiradin(G4)

Library: (90)
Master: (15)
2x Svadharma
3x The Path of Paradox
3x Vessel
2x Grooming the Protégé
1x Sudden Reversal
2x Wash
2x Antediluvian Awakening
Action: (21)
12x Kindred Spirits
6x Sensory Deprivation
3x Fatuus Mastery
Action Modifier: (27)
6x False Resonance
6x Freak Drive
5x Confusion
5x Will-o'-the-Wisp
4x Fata Morgana
1x Mantle of the Moon
Action Modifier/Combat: (10)
5x Occlusion
5x Mirror Image
Combat: (Cool
8x Illusions of the Kindred
Equipment: (5)
2x Shilmulo Tarot
2x Treasured Samadji
1x Karavalanisha Vrana
Event: (1)
1x Narrow Minds
Reaction: (3)
3x Lost in Translation

This is slightly different than my real playdeck, which has even more
combat defense in it because I regularly have to deal with Enkidu,
Tzimicse, Assamites, and Peter's Animalism decks. But I win more
often than I lose with this deck, and the Antediluvians have won me
more than one game. When this deck cooks, it does quite well and is
fun to play. I'm working on two other decks as well, using some new
cards from LotN. While there are some coasters, I found strong cards
for each clan in the set.

Comments are welcome.

Cheers,

John

Strange. I've made 3 new Ravnos decks since LotN, but then again the first
V:tES deck I ever bought was the final nights Ravnos starter. I should have
started with the Ventrue. I'd probably win more often Razz

If you want, CHI-ANI-FOR, stick with Group 2. Having all in-clan disciplines
at superior requires at least a 7-cap in Group 4/5. I guess Group 4/5 Ravnos
are for those who want out-of-clan disciplines.

I'm posting 2 of the 3 decks. The third deck I made was ANI combat with
carrion crows and aid from bats. It used Camera Phones for bleed and Raven
Spies for intercept. It also used the aim cards Target: Head and Target:
Vitals for additional damage. The Group 5 6-cap and 5-cap were the stars.
I'll post it if I can find it.

Deck Name: The week that never ends in VTES
Created By: Vincent A. Crisafulli
Description: This is a Week of Nightmares deck I had built before KMW, and
then updated with cards from the new sets.
-------------------------------------
KMW Enhancements:
* Forced March - stealth and untap for Etienne
* Tumnimos - Not as good as The Embrace, but much easier to find.
* Svadharma - Ravnos hemmorage through blood. This keeps them active. Unlike
the path, it can also help you survive a Rush or Cryptic Mission deck.
* Paul Forrest - He is a good substitute for +1 bleed when the Week is
canceled as played.
-------------------------------------
LotN Enahancements:
* Leverage - disciplineless +1 bleed is always good.
* Vessel - Destroy your opponents Blood Doll. It's also a Trifle!
* Burden The Mind - Force wall decks to pay pool. Also, still burns pool
from prey for wake/deflection.
* Forearm Block - It's no help vs guns, but disciplneless damage prevention
is good for weenies that hunt with no blood.
* Mantle of the Moon - Like Leathery Hide, I'm not sure why this card is
clan specific. Unblockable is great for the final lunge.

This a CHI DEM FOR deck. When compared to a !Malk deck, the CHI stealth
isn't as good as OBF, the DEM is the same, and the lack of AUS hurts
bigtime.
The lack of ANI for the Ravnos hurts even more.
It feels like playing a watered-down !Malk deck. However, bleeding at
stealth
is always an effective strategy. Always having damage prevention and the
Horrid Reality/Assault Rifle/Kiradin's-additional-strike combo is pretty
cool too.

Sorry Chris, I'm not going to help much here, but I'd be curious to know
which new Giovanni concept you thought worthy of Tier1 ?

Sorry Orph.

I don't say that *my* decks are tier 1, because without question they
are not. But Khazar's Diary interested me, so I made a deck. So far,
it hasn't worked so well. But I haven't seen anything for the Ravnos
that interests me. So I was wondering what looks interesting to others.
