Hello -
I'm methodical about completing quests. Typically, I like to get a
quest and go complete it and move on to the next. As I've played this
game more (even after 3.5 months I'm still raw newb material) I've
learned that mutliple quests can be completed in the same area so it
makes sense to have a few quests as active. However, when I start
hooking up with buddies, my outstanding quest log balloons towards the
max. I get overwhelmed and go nutz and delete them all. Anybody else
ever just get overwhelmed and delete all their quests and start from
scratch?
The only other issue I have with the quest log is sometimes they seem
vague about where to go and where to return when the quest is
completed. Is there an online site that provides a bit more detail
about the quests (ie locations)?
Thanks

There are several
Your best bet now days is wowhead.com
Pull down an add-on like cartographer and you get coordinates (which
people post in the comments on wowhead) as well as a way to mark up
your map. When i enter a new area and take a bunch of quests ill pin
point my map everywhere i have to go then do things in big batches.
It's way quicker plus i have those markers around next time i level a
character in the same area. >> Stay informed about: Quest overload |

You guys ROCK!
Thanks a million for the information. I've paid for my impulsive
ways by removing the quests in such a careless manner! I have to stop
drinking so much caffiene because it does cloud my ability for
rational thought.
Anyway, I appreciate the link(s) and I love the idea of being able to
annotate the minimap. I have poor memory and any such aids will help
me greatly. Thanks again.

www.wowhead.com
Get a coordinate addon (ctmapmod will do it just fine, though others
like Cartographer or Metamap work too). Look up each quest on Wowhead
(I use a second computer screen with wow head pulled up to avoid
tabbing), go to listed coordinates, complete quest. You can roll
through them pretty quickly this way. Due note though that this is
optimized for leveling speed. If you actually care about the textual
content of quests, then I'd advise avoiding such shortcuts. Myself
though I've played the old world content so many times that it's
nothing but a chore that must be endured on new characters.
One thing though: DON'T drop all your quests like you say you've
done. One fact unknown to many is that quests, whether green, yellow,
orange, or red, all give a set XP ammount. They only drop in XP given
when they go grey. This means that the easiest green quest you have
in your log will still give good XP. However, quests that are still
green, but are significantly beneath your level, will not show as an
exclamation above the quest giver's head. You can still get the
quest, you just can't actually see it indicated without talking to the
person. By dropping those quests you might be loosing good XP if you
don't reaquire them. Also, many quests are chains, and if you break
the chain like this, you may loose out on a number of good end-chain
rewards.

As others have said, wowhead.com will show starting and ending quest NPCs,
which link to maps showing the locations of said NPCs.
And a quest chain that begins with a greyed quest can end with a green,
yellow, or orange quest.
Another thing to keep in mind is reputation. If you're desirous of the
mount from another race, for instance, it's important to do ***all*** the
quests for rep for that race so that you can become 'exalted' in time for
the mount.

Another minor bit of advice. Get an add-on that shows
shows the levels of the quests (CT mod?). This way you
can work on the lowest level quests first before they
turn green or gray. When I did this I felt less
pressure to hurry up.
It helps to read through all the quests before you
head out to do them. If you only focus on a single
quest you may find yourself bypassing an NPC or
area that would have helped a different quest.

My quest log is always full.
I'm constantly having to delete old quests to make room for new. I wish
blizzard would have made the limit higher than 25. A lot of what fills up my
quest log is group and dungeon quests that I can never get a party together
to complete. I'm one of those types of people who never likes to leave a
quest unfinished, but there's only so much time and things end up turning
green and gray while I'm working on other quests.
As others have pointed out, thottbot is indispensable. Also make sure you
have one of the mods that gives you coordinates.

Patch 2.3 will introduce new discounts too, instead of the 10% at
Honoured now:
5% Friendly
10% Honoured
15% Revered
20% Exalted
This means that doing as many quests a possible will become benefitial,
even the gray quests gives a fixed reputation increase.

Since others have given you links to the two major sources for quest
information, I will just suggest you get a better quest interface. I use
extendedQuestLog <http://wowui.incgamers.com/?p=mod&m=4873>, but you
might like a more advanced one like MonkeyQuest
<http://wow.curse.com/downloads/details/3978/>.
A mod for showing coordinates at the minimap have been mentioned, but
try take a look at FuBar and TitanBar, they both have a lot of usefull
add-ons for showing information, including coordinates and zone
name/level.

Just be glad it's 25 now, it used to be 20, and I *never* had enough room,
was constantly deleting quests and trying to remember which ones so I could
pick them up later. When you've got a limit of 20 and need to make room for
6-7 for the instance you're about to do, it's not easy...

the name of the game is actually "Raid or Quit". So, with that in
mind, it's actually quite hard for them to get around to doing
anything that doesn't have anything to do with raiding. >> Stay informed about: Quest overload |

How hard can it be to open it up to a more reasonable number? Disk space is
cheap. Furthermore, they ought to be able to include a list of the quests
that you have already completed. After all, the game seems to know what
you've already done. There's time that I would like to be able to go back and
see if I did quest X or if I abandoned it.
