Post subject: Quest Help - The Abysmal Shelf bombing runs - Hellfire Peninsula

Having done the quest for the extremely saucy Wanderer's Stitched
Trousers for my female human warlock for her About Town outfit I've
been trying to get the matching Whispering Tunic by doing The Abysmal
Shelf quest. Or I would if I could get started.
I've spoken to Wing Commander Badir'ee so I can get the Murketh and
Shaadraz Gateways quest which precedes the Abyssal Shelf quest but he
just tells me to move along. Thottbot says that the quest is obtained
at level 58, thought Gateways quest is level 62 and I'm 63, so
presumably I'm not to high a level, if that's possible.
Can anyone recall if there a previous quest which I should be doing so
I can start the bombing runs. Apart from getting the Tunic the bombing
quests look good fun. |

I am not sure, but I simply talked with the gryphon master and told
him to take me to the abyssal shelf. You might need to repeat that a
few times to bomb all targets. Was it the gryphon master that told you
to move along?
PS: If you ever complete it, it can be repeated but you will get no
rewards, not even xp. |

Basically there no quests available from any of the npc's there, the
gryphon master or any of the others. I can talk to some of them but
they don't have any options and clicking on the gryphons doesn't give
a response either.
I suspect there's an earlier stage I've missed. I did the quest ther

The series starts with the gateways, and the next step is to go to shatter
point. The turn in person directs you to the gryphon master behind him, who
will allow you to fly to shatter point, but not like a typical flightmaster
does.. you have to click on the 'chat bubble' icon on the page when you talk
to him, if I recall.

Thaks for the help all, but I'm making a mistake somehwere. I got the
trousers from the Broken Keep (or simiilar) quest. I went to the
gryphon master etc and did a quest where I put out smoke signals at
the nearby Horde camp. I got a golden vest or similar from that quest.
My understanding was that I went back to the gryphon master area to
get my reward from the smoke signal quest then I would get the first
part of the bombing quest. If that's no the case then that must be

Found it  I'd missed the first part, involving the commander in

I did two shelf bombing quests as a 60 rogue. I don't know of any
prereqs, but it is possible I did them without realizing the
significance...

I got the abyssal shelf bombing quest and all I'd done previously were the 2
gateway vombing quests, and the quests to light the 4 towers in the orc
camp.

Now sorted I had to get a quest from the commander in Honor Hold
which eventually led to this quest. This is one of the very early
quests which I'd missed, mainly because I didn't like Hellfire Pen
