i'm thinking of picking this game up, but i'm concerned about the
frame-rate problems people have been complaining about.

some say it's bad, some say it's not that bad...which is it?

also, is there going to be an update that fixes the frame-rate issue?

Frame rate is not an issue unless you play on the easy setting and run into
battles, and even at its worst the game is totally playable. I liked this
more than Xbox Doom.

oh, and i loved doom 3 xbox...i put the controller down at the guardian

I'll second the Quake 4 recommendation. It slows down sometimes but not to
where it makes the game not enjoyable.

why not just rent it? you can beat it in a weekend and framerate issues or
no (it does stutter some), it's definitely worth playing.
