Agreed, I regard it as a bug (although as a non-PVPer I only ever encounter
it in duels, and I duel very rarely), but I've heard people who've reported
it as a bug have been told it's "working as intended". Which I cannot
believe; it goes completely against the point of vanish.

i really was puzzled as to how a hunter's pet managed to follow me
after i'd vanished... not hunter's mark, no DoT but it still managed
to find me.
needless to say the hunter was following the pet and they both soon
killed me.
maybe it's blizzard's way of saying sorry to the hunters after making
vanish remove hunter's mark. /shrug |

forgot to say... if it wasn't announced in any patch notes, it's a
bug.
it's such an improvement/advantage to hunters when fighting rogues, i
doubt they would have put it in to a patch without announcing it.
