The router probably is not the problem.
Cruddy punkbuster servers probably is.
Do this:
Get all the patches for the game, that's 1.61b (or 1.0, 1.6 patch, 1.61
patch and then the "b" patch). Install DC and DC final. (DC is a Mod, and
Final is an update to it.)
Then, at
www.evenbalance.com get a copy of "pbweb.exe". This program
downloads the updates in HTML format and converts to DLL format for
PunkBuster. Put the file in your "pb" folder in the install, run the
program by double clicking. Wait. When it's done, log in and play.
You may have to do the punkbuster update periodically to keep it up-to-date,
but since the updates are not coming as quickly now that should not be a big
deal.
