Has anyone tried this?
A flurry, Dual wield spec Warrior armed with....

Fist weapons.

I'm currently trying it at lvl 42, but aren't specced for Dual wield,
and am still saving, so I can't afford the respec atm. but. with two
lvl 20 (damage 10-20) claws, that I got from a vendour. I today
critted someone with the above set up, whilst my skill was still well
down, (having only just had the idea) for....

867 points of damage, nearly as much as my best polearm crit with Grim
Reaper.

Whilst the fist weapons are frowned upon by the Rogueish types,
I think this build is more viable than it may appear at first glance.
The amount of hits you can pour out is lunatic, casters beware

I was missing a fair bit, but my skill was low and I dont have the
talent for upping off hand damage. But, I will wager, lvl for level, a
warrior will totally outstrip a rogue with fist weapons.

I don't think that this will necessarily do any better than daggers
but for one point, cannot be disarmed.

I will give more news as I get the info, but I have my usual noobie
questions.

Are there any "magical" fist weapons lower than lvl 54? (I have seen
one)

That must be with bloodthirst, eh? Or an execute?

All I can say is that I tried to play a fury/protection warrior on the
test servers, here in Europe we get to try out fully geared level 60s.

I was dishing more damage with two bloody brass knuckles than with an
arcanite reaper... I believe it's because that was my first time as a
warrior then, and that I'm very fond of the quick attack mechanisms of
dual-wielding.

My own all-out fury warrior has also tested these knuckles. The look of
it is great, especially when I fight mobs without chestpiece, I look
like a boxing champion Smile But the damage wasn't on par yet, mainly
because I didn't have bloodthirst nor flurry then, and attack power
isn't nearly as important back then than it is now. Now, at level 41, I
dual wield with the scarlet monastery sword (horde quest reward), 1.9
speed, and the SM dagger (1.4 speed) in the offhand. I can dish very
interesting DPS and my rage generation is neat. Not quite incredible,
just "neat". I cannot spam whirlwind, cleave AND bloodthirst in the
same fight yet, for example, but I can sustain two of those with hardly
a problem against mobs of a lower level than me. Against higher levels,
A two-hander is more effective because of the lowered miss rate, or so
I've found out. But yeah, once you reach the big attack power stats,
big hit rate and big crit rate, it seems a fast attack speed become
much, much more efficient than it would seem at first.

I don't know.

I'm still working around a way to afford my mount and my full plate
gear and my two flurry axes and the crusader enchants, the blue/purple
fisters will have to be white for a while Wink

There are some nice fist weapons at 60, however they are very difficult
to get a hold of. Eskhander's set in particular, and the ZG pair are
nice individually, but the set is for hunters really(yes, really).

Fist weapons dont look as good as a sword thats 4x bigger than gnomes
so they kinda get overlooked.

Likely not - the selection of fist weapons in the game is, and has
always been abysmal. It has gotten better in the top end (rank 14 PvP
weapons, Eskanders set, ZG set, and some fists from BWL), but the low
and middle end is still mostly empty...

Today the problems with fist weapons is mostly the poor selection, and
the fact that rogues need daggers for backstabbing.

Heh. I saw a player running by in duskwood that had brightly glowing hands
(sort of like my Paladin's vengeance, but on all the time). They were
moving too fast for me to snag an inspect - I wonder if that's what he was
wearing? *
