Thanks Mark. I've been playing with Ubuntu for some time now but haven't
actually installed it, just ran the live CD. I'm currently downloading
Mandriva and I plan on doing a dual boot install with it.
You are right too. I'm not technically trained with computers but I
understand the day to day usage and I'm savvy enought to be the "tech
support" for my click. I had no problems at all configuring Ubuntu to work
and it played well with all my stuff. I wonder why I was even tempted to try
Vista now.

Most distros have their own support forums. There are also shed loads of
help pages all over the net. I tried Fedora core for a couple of years
and I can definitely recommend that you don't go anywhere near it. My
advice would be Ubuntu. Like most it will setup a dual boot with no
problems at all. If you go for 6.06 it has LTS (Long Term Support) which
is quite nice. Most distros (Including Ubuntu 6.10) get updated every 6
months with support for 18 months. I think Sid has made the best comment
though, go get some live CDs. See if they support your hardware. Go here
http://distrowatch.com/ for links to all distros and a load of
information on them all. If you do install Ubuntu look for a programme
called Automatix http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=138405 I
promise you once that is installed you will wonder why you ever used
Windows.

Enjoy

No worries, as far as support goes the best place as far as I'm concerned
would be alt.os.linux.mandriva

That, incidentily is where you have a good chance of finding Mr K. His name
is Dave BTW.
