Having the same problem myself.

In another related topic I read that the person could only get a couple of games to run. The reply to him was maybe a dirty laser lens or dust inside the machine. The reply said carefully open it up and blow the dust out.

I am getting two CD laser cleaning discs, one wet and one dry, this week and trying to clean the lens.

I will also be opening mine to dust it. I will come back and tell you what happened if you like. If it dosent work I guess I will buy a used replacement.
