As a level 42 dwarf priest, I am both looking forward to and am apprehensive
of the upcoming changes.
For 29 levels I struggled with a disc/holy build. Then, tired of having my
most frequent interaction as a solo player being with the spirit healer, I
succumbed to the dark side of the force.
It took me awhile to re-learn my class (there was that one unfortunate use
of psychic scream while in group). I learned to love vampiric embrace,
shadow word pain, mind blast, and mind flay. Shadowform increased my
abilities as a solo player.
Now, it is time to change.
And I am completely unnerved.
From a role-play perspective, and, looking to higher level content, I am
thinking there is nothing to match the Holy/disc spec'd dwarf priest.
But, how to get there from level 42? I need a plan! I want survivability in
solo play, and to be a necessity in groups. I want to be feared in
BattleGrounds. Currently, shadowform will add to my kills, but if I am the
only healer in the raid, I *need* to be able to heal. And currently I am one
very squishy target. Am I correct in thinking that the new talent trees will
be my answer to the multiple requirements of PvP play?
I've been playing with the talent calculator, and I feel like a kid in the
grocery story, with tons to choose from, and a limited amount to spend. I
seriously want to get the best bang for my buck.
Any theorists want to suggest a solid build for RP, PvP, and end-game? >> Stay informed about: Priest - learning to play after 1.10 |

I would still spec shadow till level 60, unless youre someone who runs
instances 100% of the time. Shadow priest can heal fine in almost all cases.
Most of the spells are going to cost about 10% mana less as a base cost so
even shadow priests will be better healers. >> Stay informed about: Priest - learning to play after 1.10 |
