If all games were available on all consoles, then the decision would
largely be between which console has the better graphics, and after that,
price.
The additional features don't really play much of a deciding role in which
console gets chosen. People weren't buying PS1s because they could play
audio CDs, and except for a very small portion, no one's buying a PS3 or
360 for its HD movie playback capabilities either.
There's been talk of a "single console" market, but I don't think it'll
happen any time soon. The hardware companies (Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo)
would end up losing too much control, and the video game console market
would turn into the PC market. This would have advantages and
disadvantages.
