I have a Japanese N64 with a UK power supply and I get a slight flicker
in the background on games (Rogue Sqadron is the most noticable). I
tried my other UK power supply I have and got even worse flicker, which
had white horizontal lines across the screen at all times.
Would using a US or Japanese 60Hz power supply remedy this problem?

Hi, I'm Rodrigo from brasil, sorry for my poor english. I have a
problem very likely your, my console flicker or became black and white
in certain parts of some games, depending on the television that I try.

For example games like 007 Goldeneye, Super Mario 64, simply run
perfectly, but others that run in higher resolutions (like Star Wars
Rogue Squadron intro screen, or Star Wars Racer in the game), simply
start a strange behaviour:

In my Panasonic CRT TV 29", they create a strip, occupying about 20% of
top screen, only, and only in certain colours, like red (flickering to
green) and blue(also flickering, most to purple).
In my Philco CRT 14" it have another behaviour, flickering only a small
part of top of screen, like 1,5 centimeters.
And still goes on in other Shap CRT 20" in this parts of games, it
simply became black and white.

Coincidence or not, to days ago I take my console to a repair center,
only to know why this happen, strangely the technicist tell me without
even plug my console on the television, the cause of this is a problem
in the graphics processor, and in time my console simply will exclude
that strip, bacaming absolutely dark, I simply don't believe.

To my surprise, in another repair center the techniscist had tested my
console with my cables, in front of me, and the console simply runs
perfectely, in all parts, without even one pixel flickering. So I
conclude this is a "television" problem, I ask for him what color
system this tv are using, and he show me theres only ntsc and pal-m in
that television, and him is using pal-m.

Is this related to your case ? I'm investigating this.

Sorry for the large post.
